Fresh fruity floral fragrance with bergamot, pear, and green apple, blended with jasmine, rose

Type “extrait de parfum” into a Pakistani search bar and you will find bottles at Rs 4,399 and bottles at Rs 25,000, both carrying the same two words on the label. This guide explains what extrait de parfum actually means, what it costs in Pakistan today, where the extra money goes, and when it is worth paying for.
A plain note before we start: we are Scent PûrÂ, and every perfume we sell is an extrait. So we have an interest in this topic. We have tried to write the guide you would want even if you never bought from us, and where other houses do something better, we say so.
Every perfume is a mix of fragrance oil and a carrier, usually perfumer’s alcohol. The name on the bottle tells you roughly how much of that mix is fragrance oil. The usual industry ranges look like this:
“Extrait” is French for “extract”. In practice it means the most concentrated spray format a house makes. Ours sit at 35–40% perfume oil, which is at the top of that range.
This is the part most product pages skip. These names are industry conventions, not a legally fixed standard. One brand’s “extrait” might be 20% oil; another’s might be 40%. And concentration says nothing about the quality of the oil itself, how well the formula is balanced, or how it behaves on your skin.
Three things follow from that:
If you have bought a strong-sounding perfume that still vanished by lunchtime, our guide on why perfume does not last covers the other usual culprits: dry skin, heat, and nose fatigue.
We checked these prices on each brand’s own website on 7 November 2026. Prices change, so click through before you buy. Where a brand does not state the concentration, we have not guessed it.
| Perfume | Concentration (as stated) | Size | Price | Per ml |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Colish Anokha | Extrait de parfum | 100 ml | Rs 25,000 | Rs 250 |
| J. Legende de Oud | Extrait de parfum | 100 ml | Rs 16,000 | Rs 160 |
| Colish Antidote | Eau de parfum | 100 ml | Rs 9,600 | Rs 96 |
| MTJ Oud Passion | Eau de parfum | 100 ml | Rs 5,750 | Rs 58 |
| Scent Pûr Bergmist | Extrait de parfum, 35–40% oil | 100 ml | Rs 7,699 | Rs 77 |
| Scent Pûr Oudelyon | Extrait de parfum, 35–40% oil | 100 ml | Rs 5,199 | Rs 52 |
| Scent Pûr Calmera | Extrait de parfum, 35–40% oil | 100 ml | Rs 4,399 | Rs 44 |
| Scent Pûr Calmera | Extrait de parfum, 35–40% oil | 40 ml | Rs 2,199 | Rs 55 |
Two things stand out. First, the extrait label alone spans Rs 44 to Rs 250 per ml. Second, some eau de parfums cost more than some extraits. Price follows brand, packaging, retail footprint and the cost of the oils, not just the concentration.
Higher prices are not all margin. When you pay Rs 16,000 or Rs 25,000 you are often paying for things that matter to some buyers:
What the price does not guarantee is longer wear. Once you are at extrait strength, the notes, your skin and how you apply it decide most of the result.
Our longer guide on applying perfume so it lasts in Pakistan’s heat goes further.
Every Scent Pûr perfume is an extrait de parfum at 35–40% perfume oil, sold in two sizes: 40 ml (“Scent Buddy”) and 100 ml (“Grande”). Most of our 40 ml bottles cost between Rs 2,199 and Rs 2,999, and most 100 ml bottles between Rs 4,399 and Rs 6,399. A few cost more because their oils cost more. We list longevity and projection honestly on each page, including the ones that are shorter-lived.
If you are new to extraits and want an easy, lower-cost start, these are good first bottles:
If you want to see what a high oil load does with warmer or more distinctive notes:
Not sure yet? Our build-your-own tester box lets you pick 5 perfumes for Rs 1,500, so you can wear each one through a full day before buying a bottle. For a wider view of perfume prices beyond extraits, see what perfume actually costs in Pakistan.
It contains more fragrance oil, usually about 20–40% against roughly 15–20% for an EDP. That normally means it lasts longer. It does not always mean it smells louder: extraits often project less in the first hour and stay closer to the skin.
On 7 November 2026, the extraits we checked ranged from Rs 2,199 for 40 ml (our Calmera and Lupo) to Rs 25,000 for 100 ml (Colish Anokha). J. Legende de Oud was Rs 16,000 for 100 ml. Compare per ml, not per bottle.
No. Attar is traditionally pure oil with no alcohol, applied by hand. An extrait is a spray: a high share of perfume oil in perfumer’s alcohol. Attar wears very close to the skin; an extrait has a little more lift.
It depends on the notes. On our own range, fresh citrus extraits are listed at about 5–8 hours and warm amber and musk ones at about 10–12 hours. Heat and sweat shorten wear for every perfume, so moisturising and spraying clothing helps.
Two to three for daytime and offices. Four at most for an outdoor evening. Because the oil load is high, more sprays add heaviness faster than they add hours.
Ask the brand for the oil percentage and check whether it lists longevity honestly. Then test it on your own skin for a full day. A tester box or sample is the cheapest way to do that.
